How to learn skiing without taking formal lessons?

I’ve always been greatly mesmerized by skiing and now that I finally got a chance to live in a place where skiing can b done; I am not leaving this opportunity. However; I don’t know to ski as yet and have been thinking of learning this skill at home. Basically; I’m a student who already has academic expenses like taking writing assistance from usessaywriter or buying books. This is why I can’t afford to take formal skiing classes.
