Looking for Recommendations on Buying Skis and Bindings

Hi everyone,

My wife and I are thinking about buying our first pair of skis and bindings, and we'd really appreciate some advice.

We've both been skiing for many years at an intermediate level, exclusively on alpine skis. Until now we've always rented equipment because we didn't get to the mountains very often. Lately, though, we've been skiing at least one week every year, so buying our own gear now seems like a worthwhile investment.

We're mainly looking for recommendations on:

Good ski and binding combinations for intermediate recreational skiers.
Reliable online stores that offer competitive prices or seasonal discounts.
Any shops you'd recommend visiting in person.

We'll be spending some time in Cervinia this August, so if there's a store there that's worth checking out, I'd be happy to stop by. I've also had good experiences shopping in Livigno, so suggestions there are welcome as well.

For reference:

I'm 178 cm tall.
My wife is 163 cm tall.
We recently purchased new ski boots, so we're only looking for skis and bindings.
